With "Win Place Show", it's easy to figure out your horse racing bets, based on the odds and/or pools. WPS is an online parimutuel betting calculator.

Remember: Bet at your own risk and bet responsibly!

Answer

To get started, go to the WPS Home page, enter your total wager amount and the winning odds then press WAGER! WPS will respond with your best bets based on the odds/pools that you enter.

To place a bet at the track or parlor, tell the mutuel clerk:

  1. The name of the track.
  2. The race number.
  3. The amount of your bet.
  4. The type of bet.
  5. The program/gate number of the horse.
Answer

Here's how WPS works...

The home (calculator) page is made up of four panels:

  1. Wager Form - Enter the total amount that you wish to bet on a race and press the WAGER button to get your list of wagers. Each wager is made up of: a bet, a type and a position.
  2. Winning Odds (required) - Checkmark each gate position and enter the odds: 2/1, 7/2, 10/1, ...
  3. Place Pool (optional) - A more advanced calculation is possible when you enter the place pools. A place pool is the total amount bet on a horse, by everyone, to finish first or second.
  4. Show Pool (optional) - An even more advanced calculation is possible when you enter the show pools. A show pool is the total amount bet on a horse, by everyone, to finish first, second or third.

Your smart phone or tablet’s home screen isn’t just for apps. Whatever platform you’re using, you can pin WPS to your home screen so you can quickly open it.

Android

Launch the Chrome or FireFox browser and open Win Place Show. Tap the menu button then select Add to Home screen. You’ll be able to enter a name for the shortcut and Android will add it to your home screen.

The icon will appear on your home screen just like any other application shortcut or widget, so you can drag it around and put it wherever you like.

iPhone, iPad, & iPod Touch

Launch the Safari browser on Apple’s iOS and navigate to Win Place Show. Tap the Share button on the browser’s toolbar - that’s the rectangle with an arrow pointing upward. It’s on the bar at the top of the screen on an iPad, and on the bar at the bottom of the screen on an iPhone or iPod Touch. Tap the Add to Home Screen icon in the Share menu.

You’ll be prompted to name the shortcut before tapping the Add button. The shortcut can be dragged around and placed anywhere, including in app folders - just like a normal app icon.

Parimutuel betting (from the French: Pari Mutuel or mutual betting) is a betting system in which all bets of a particular type are placed together in a pool; taxes and the "house-take" or "vigorish" are removed, and payoff odds are calculated by sharing the pool among all winning bets. - Wikipedia
